bo-ca: passador de fio dental e caixa

bo-ca is a dental-floss threader kept in a mouth-shaped case, a hygiene object that plays with the very gesture of using it.

The threader was modeled in 3D and printed; the case was designed in Illustrator and laser-cut. The name plays on the Portuguese word for “mouth”: red lips, teeth, and an opening that reveals the threaders inside.

Developed in Mackenzie's Digital Fabrication course, bo-ca combined 3D printing and laser cutting with a simple, direct visual idea, turning an everyday item into an object with personality.
